Why This Matters

The Manitoba government has made unprecedented progress achieving a modest surplus in 2019/20 and invested $228 million in its Rainy Day Fund at the end of 2019/20, to ensure money is there when Manitobans need it most. This contribution brings the balance of the Rainy Day Fund to $800M. These funds will be available for future operating requirements, and to address unforeseen circumstances encountered by the Government of Manitoba.
